June 2016

Some of our Primary 7 pupils represented Thornwood at the finals of the Glasgow Primary Schools' Athletic Championships. Caitlin in P7 was the winner of the P7 Girls' 100m sprint.

 

Easter 2016

Well done to our team of 10 pupils from P6 and P7 who played in the Jump2it basketball finals at the Emirates Stadium. After their games they had court-side seats to watch the Glasgow Rocks game. This is the third year in succession that Thornwood Primary has reached the Jump 2 it Basketball finals.

 

March 2016

Well done to this team from P6-7 who won the Jump2it BasketballTournament on 23rd March at Tollcross Sports Centre. They have a place in the city wide finals on 3rd April at the Emirates Stadium.

Congratulations to Cody for being awarded Most Valued Player at the Tournament.

Well done to our P7 dancers (who called themselves 'The Next Step') for participating in Glasgow's Got The Moves Dance Competition.

Well done to our P7 team of 10 pupils who played in the Jump2it basketball finals at the Emirates Stadium. After their games we had court-side seats to watch the Glasgow Rocks game.
 
 
March 2015
A P7 basketball team also won all matches at the Jump2it tournament. They were photographed with Glasgow Rocks players.
Congratulations to Nicole, who was voted Most Valued Player out of all schools who took part in this event.
Our P7 team will now play in the final on Good Friday at the Emirates Stadium, prior to the Rocks’ professional game.
 
P4-7 girls took part in a friendly inter-school tournament, following a block of after school football training with Broomhill Sports Club coaches. They came second! Well done to them and to Jodi (P5) who was voted Most Valued Player!
 
A P7 team were the winners at the NW Active Schools Basketball Tournament. This was the first time in 10 years that a school from Hyndland Learning Community has won this tournament! 
Well done to Sean for being voted Most Valued Player in this tournament.
 

7th November 2014

A team of Primary 7 pupils won an inter-school friendly basketball tournament hosted by Hyndland Primary.
 
Easter 2014 
Thornwood Primary was one of only five schools from across the city who had a basketball team reach the finals in the 'Jump 2 it' tournament.
 
Seven pupils from Thornwood Primary took part in this final on Easter Sunday at the Emirates Stadium.

 

 

The team had their photos taken with Scottish Rocks players and the Rockettes Cheerleading team.

Glasgow Rocks players visited our school again to present signed posters to the pupils who played in the Jump2it Basketball Finals.  The school was also presented wtih a framed signed poster from the players.
